The Austin City Council will be voting on the preparation and adoption of modifications to an ordinance governing small vehicle passenger services during its next regular meeting.

The modification to the ordinance prohibits smoking in small passenger vehicles hired for transportation purposes. It also clarifies what kind of signage is required to mark said vehicles.

The language was added to the ordinance to make it compliant to transportation network companies like Uber and Lyft.
