The Austin Post 1216 VFW baseball team picked up a pair of shutout wins as they beat Cannon Falls 8-0 in Marcusen Park Saturday and topped the Rochester Spartans 5-0 in Rochester Sunday.

Jed Nelson struck out two in seven innings in the shutout over Cannon Falls and Zach Bollingberg struck out six in seven innings in the shutout over Rochester.

Bollingberg went four-for-six with a triple and three RBIs over the weekend for Austin (6-3 overall, 6-2 District).

Austin’s next home game will be when it hosts the Rochester Knights at 5 p.m. on July 17.

The Sub-District Tournament is scheduled for July 20-21 and the District Tournament is scheduled for July 27-29.
