Albert Lea police are investigating after a body was found Monday evening between the Blazing Star Landing and the Union Pacific Railroad yard.
Police are still working to identify the person through sources such as dental records and DNA, Albert Lea Deputy Chief of Police Darren Hanson said.
Hanson said an autopsy was conducted on the body Tuesday morning; however, no information will be released until the identification is completed.
“Through what we can see to the investigation at this point, there’s no risk to the public,” he said.
He declined to comment with information about the person who found the body.
If anyone has information regarding the incident, they are asked to contact the Albert Lea Police Department at 377-5200.
Hanson said he did not have an anticipated timeline on when more information would be released.
