Bettie Ann Ricketts, 91, of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.

Bettie was born on March 28, 1928, to John W. and Hilda (Olson) Newman in Austin. She attended Austin Public Schools. She worked at Ankeny Mini Marts from 1969 until she retired in 1990. She was a member of Crane Chapel. In 2012, she moved to St. Louis. Bettie enjoyed crocheting, word searches, Bingo, and watching the Game Show Network. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Delle of St. Louis and Pam (Scott) Bridley of Austin; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jim) Roberts of St. Louis and Andrea (Dave) Stawarski of O’Fallon, Illinois; three great-grandchildren, Landen, Haley and Nolan; brother, John “Jack” Newman of Austin; and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hilda Newman; brother, William B. Newman; sisters, Gertrude Nicholson, Mattie Miller and Dorothy A. Newman; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Newman.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, at Crane Community Chapel in Austin. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
