Kristie Ann Steiner, 56 of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, Minnesota.

Kris was born July 17, 1963, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Harold and Armeda “Jean” (Yanzer) Boverhuis. She was raised in Lansing, Minnesota and went to Austin High School, graduating in 1981.

On Aug. 2, 1986, she married Kent Steiner at the First United Methodist Church in Austin, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three sons Matthew, Jordan, and Jacob.

Kris worked as a paraprofessional for many years at Hayfield School District. She was a member of the Brownsdale United Methodist Church. Kris loved photographing sunsets and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins. She found joy in listening to music and was a very gifted vocalist. More than anything, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, including her nieces and nephews, and always attended their events. Kris will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her parents, Harold and Jean Boverhuis, Lansing; husband, Kent Steiner,  Brownsdale; three sons, Matthew (Wendy Anderson) Steiner, Brownsdale, Minnesota, Jordan Steiner, Brownsdale, Jacob (Kelliemarie Mash) Steiner, Brownsdale, Minnesota; father-in-law, James Steiner, San Antonio, Texas; siblings, Dawn (Mark) Sutton, Arizona, Bridget (Brad) Sheely, Brownsdale, Minnesota, Chanda (Jeff) Sayles of Austin, Bernie (Tammy) Boverhuis of Lansing; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and mother-in-law, Anne Steiner.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Austin. Retired Pastor Dennis Tamke, Pastor Lisa Vick, and Pastor Bridget Sheely will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
