Packer boys hit third period lull against Lancers

The Austin boys hockey team had a nightmare third period as it lost to La Crescent 7-5 in its home opener in Riverside Arena Saturday.
The Packers (0-2 overall) held a 5-3 lead after two periods, but the Lancers outscored them 4-0 in the third.
Garett Schaefer, who had two goals for Austin, scored with 6:29 left in the second to give the Packers a 5-3 lead.
Kaleb Ree, Blaine Krueger and Jameson Johnson each had one goal for Austin.
Brayden Klapperick stopped 35 shots in net for Austin, which had 48 shots on goal.
