A wonderful time of year

Published 7:01 am Saturday, December 28, 2019

People often ask me if I have a Christmas birthday due to my name, but the answer is no.  However, I do really enjoy this season.  I think it’s a wonderful time of year to celebrate in whatever way and with whomever brings you joy.  I am sure you have listened to your share of holiday music this season so I thought I would alter the words to one of my favorites in honor of the Hormel Historic Home.

With the lights simply glowing

And everyone telling you, through the rooms you can roam

It’s the most wonderful time at the home

It’s the shine-shiniest time in our year

With some holiday parties and history and music

Our guests find us here

It’s the shine-shiniest time in our year

There’ll be pretty trees for the looking

Scones that need cooking

And fireplaces that once glowed

There’ll be Hormel family stories

And tales of their of glories of

History long, long ago

It’s the most wonderful time at the home

There’ll be much decorating

Our best will be showing, though not with a gnome

It’s the most wonderful time at the home

Whew, that one was hard.  My 2018 rendition of My Favorite Things was a little easier.  Hope your holiday season has been most wonderful.  I’ll get serious again in 2020.
