Law enforcement urges common sense on New Year’s Eve

With New Year’s Eve upon us, local law enforcement is reminding revelers to use common sense when enjoying the night tonight.
Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik urged people to plan ahead when going to and leaving their destinations tonight and warned that there will be increased patrols throughout the night.
“Obviously there will be extra enforcement,” Sandvik said. “We ask people to be responsible and have a sober ride. Enjoy the night, but be responsible.”
What could complicate things is that roads may still be slick and snow covered by the storm that sideswiped the area.
“Call a cab or call a friend,” Sandvik urged.
