Randy L. Duholm, 66, of Austin, Minnesota, passed on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, surrounded by his family at his home.
Randy was born July 11, 1953, in Austin to Richard and Vera (Tiedeman) Duholm. He graduated from Austin High School in 1971 and completed a two-year auto mechanic technician program at the Austin Area Vocational Technical Institute. He co-owned Independent Auto in Austin and Lyle Auto Services in Lyle, Minnesota. After 28 years, he retired from the service department at USEMs in Austin. Randy married Darlene Willmert on Feb. 14, 1981, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin. Together they raised their twins: son, Jesse, and daughter, Jennifer. Randy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Good Time Riders Snowmobile Club, Son of the American Legion in Austin and the United States Bowling Congress. As an avid outdoorsman, Randy enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, bird watching and feeding the deer. He liked to bowl and he loved tinkering with cars and drag racing. He treasured spending time with his family and playing baseball with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Duholm. Randy is survived by his wife, Darlene Duholm, Austin; son, Jesse (Jennifer) Duholm, Austin; daughter, Jennifer (Dan) Ehrich, Circle Pines, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Keagen Lee, Kinley Marie, Ellie Jean and Brenna June; mother, Vera Duholm, Austin; siblings, Kirk (Karen) Duholm, Eagan, Minnesota, Chris (Mark) Pothen, Mounds View, Minnesota, and Jane (Charlie) Knutson, Faribault, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Diane (Mike) Gilbert, Rochester, Minnesota, Ruth (Vance) Oelkers, Austin, Debbie Willmert (Mike Marcks), Austin, Margi Willmert, Mankato, Minnesota, and Rita Seha, Kasson, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Rick (Julie) Willmert, Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Olmsted officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and will continue for one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.
