Rotary names November Students of the Month

Congratulations to Faith Nystel and Tori Watkins on being named the Rotary Students of the Month for November 2019.
Nystel is a member of National Honor Society, Youth Leadership, Peer Power Partners, DECA, Go Green Club, and was a manager for the girls soccer team. She has received the Spotlight Award for soccer and the Presidential Award for Academics. “I have gained a great education from Austin Public Schools, and I have been granted many amazing opportunities to get involved, gain new skills, and challenge myself throughout my academic career,” she said. Nystel’s future plans include attending a four-year university for environmental studies.
Watkins is a member of Austinaires, Link Crew, NHS, DECA, and participates in tennis and church choir. She has received the All State Tennis Academic award, the Spotlight on Scholarship Award for Tennis, and letters in gymnastics, tennis and track. “My education experience has been quite a journey,” she said. “I’m very thankful for all the peers, teachers and people in my life who have played such a role in making my education such a great experience.”
Watkin’s future plans include attending Iowa State University to major in marketing.
Each month the Austin Rotary, in conjunction with Austin Public Schools, selects two students who excel in academics, leadership and/or activities.
