No injuries reported
Fire departments in and near Blooming Prairie were on scene Tuesday, working to extinguish a fire at The Bakery in Blooming Prairie.
According to the Blooming Prairie Police Department, a call came in at about 6:10 a.m. after an employee saw smoke coming from The Bakery, located at 345 West Main St.
Along with the BPPD and BPFD, fire departments from Hayfield, Owatonna, Geneva, Ellendale, Claremont and Hollandale responded to the scene.
“I’m in shock,” The Bakery owner Greg Fristedt told the Herald as he watched from across the street.
Also damaged was an apartment located on the second floor of the building. A gofundme page has been set up for the occupants, Sadie Burnett and Travis Marth, and can be found at www.gofundme.com/f/help-for-sadie-and-travis.
The State Fire Marshal was on scene to investigate.
No injuries were reported.
