Northern Country Cooperative Company recently awarded donations to three Future Farmers of America programs that were matched by the Land O’ Lakes Foundation Member Co-op Match Program.
The schools receiving the donations were Austin High School and Blooming Prairie High School, each receiving a total of $2,040, and Southland High School in Adams receiving a total of $9,880.
As a result of the donations to Austin and Blooming Prairie programs, members will attend judging competitions and state and national FFA conventions where they will further their education and learn how to promote and develop the next generation of Ag leaders, both in production and business roles. The donation to Southland’s program will provide funds for children and adults with disabilities to attend True Friends Camp Courage, which will provide them with life-changing experiences that enhance their independence and self-esteem.
As a part of our commitment to rural communities where our members, employees, and facilities are located, NCC is pleased to make these donations, matched by Land O’ Lakes, to help enhance the quality of life in these local communities. NCC has 12 facilities throughout southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
Land O’Lakes Foundation Member Co-op Match Program matches the cash donations of member cooperatives to local nonprofits, schools, and cities, thus doubling the funds available for hometown projects. Grants are restricted to organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
