Holtz surpasses 1,000 career points at Luther

Decorah, Iowa – Luther College senior Sarah Holtz, a 2016 graduate of Pacelli Catholic High School, scored her 1,000th career point during Luther’s 79-41 American Rivers Conference victory over Central College on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Holtz entered the game needing four points to achieve this milestone and finished the evening with a game high 21, putting her over the 1,000-point barrier.
Holtz is now the 13th player in Luther women’s basketball history to achieve 1,000 career points.
Eleven games into the 2019-20 campaign, Holtz is leading the Norse (7-6 overall) in scoring averaging 16.8 points per game. She is shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 79.4 percent from the free throw line.
Holtz is the daughter of Scott and Carol Holtz of Austin, Minn.
Luther College, located in Decorah, Iowa, is a member of the American Rivers Conference and affiliated with the NCAA Division III. The Norse compete in 10 men’s and nine women’s intercollegiate sports.
Since 1922, Luther’s men’s and women’s sports have combined to capture 247 conference championships. The men’s teams have won 166 and the women’s teams have won 81.
