Melodie Ann Williamson, 63, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Melodie was born on March 21, 1956, in Austin to Alvin and Ramona (Nack) Meyer. She graduated from Austin High School in 1974 and attended Austin Community College before graduating with an art major and commercial art minor from St. Cloud State University. Mel worked at the Austin Public Library and cleaned several homes.

Melodie liked to paint and taught an art class at the Austin Public Library. She loved cats and enjoyed gardening, insisting on hand weeding the garden and the yard.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona; grandparents; and ex-husband, Galen Williamson. Melodie is survived by her father, Alvin Meyer, Austin; brother, Michael Meyer, Austin; nephews, Joshua Meyer, Orlando, Florida, and John Meyer, Lexington, Kentucky; aunt, Laurie Bublitz, Grafton, Iowa; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Shari Mason officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Beckwith Cemetery in Colwell, Iowa.
