Cody Edward Boley, 23, of Austin has been charged with felony first-degree drugs – sale of 17 grams or more of cocaine or methamphetamine within a 90-day period.

According to the court complaint, narcotics detectives met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) about purchasing methamphetamine from Boley on Oct. 22.

The CRI advised that a deal was set up with an adult female to purchase methamphetamine at a location in Austin.

The CRI was searched and provided with buy money and an audio transmitter, then monitored as he met with Boley and the woman. The CRI was heard speaking to both of them. After a short time, the CRI met with police at a predetermined location and surrendered 2.6 grams of methamphetamine.

The CRI said he gave the money to the woman, who handed it to Boley. Boley then handed him the drugs.

A similar purchase was arranged on Oct. 24. The CRI was again searched and provided with purchase money and an audio transmitter. The CRI then met with the woman at a location in Austin before Boley arrived. The CRI then met police at a predetermined location and surrendered 6.5 grams of methamphetamine. He confirmed Boley sold him the drugs.

The CRI arranged another purchase on Dec. 6 and was again searched and provided with buy money and an audio transmitter. He met with Boley alone, after which he surrendered 3.74 grams of methamphetamine to law enforcement.

The CRI arranged another purchase on Dec. 20 and was told by Boley the woman would sell him the drugs. The CRI was again searched and provided with buy money and an audio transmitter. He then met with her at a location in Austin, then met with police at a predetermined location and surrendered 7.41 grams of methamphetamine.

A review of Boley’s criminal history shows prior convictions for theft, counterfeiting currency and drug possession.

Boley will appear in court again on March 19.
