While Austin Public Schools has taken steps to ensure that kids continue getting meals during this extended break, Lyle Public Schools has announced it is doing the same thing.
In a letter to parents, Lyle Public Schools Superintendent Bryan Boysen announced that Lyle will be offering meals, as well as breakfast for the next parents to those who want it.
These meals will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lyle Public School.
“We are utilizing what we currently have in inventory and are in the process of ordering other items for next week also,” Boysen said in the letter. “If children or parents are unable to get to the school, please let us know and we can coordinate a delivery method. The school phone number is 507-325-2201.”
The move by Lyle will help not only students living in the Lyle School District, but those kids who are open enrolled from the Austin area, which makes up a large number of its population.
