Edward David Green Jr., 54, of Austin was sentenced to concurrent terms of 26 and 23 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for two counts of felony violate a domestic assault no contact order (DANCO) – within 10 years of the first of two or more convictions – on Friday in Mower County District Court. He received credit for 271 days served.
Two additional charges of felony violate a domestic assault no contact order (DANCO) – within 10 years of the first of two or more convictions – were dismissed as part of a plea agreement reached on Nov. 27.
Judge Jeffrey Kritzer issued the sentence.
Court documents state that an Austin police detective was advised on May 7 that Green, an inmate at the Mower County Jail, had been contacting the victim of his domestic abuse charges in violation of a DANCO she had against him.
The detective monitored Green’s text messages and telephone records and found 21 text messages and 49 outgoing calls from Green to the victim’s phone.
A review of Green’s criminal record shows prior convictions for domestic assault and violating a DANCO.
