As we keep you posted with the 2020 schedule, we have decided to cancel the May 14 trip this year to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
Located in Chaska, these gardens have been voted as one of the top Horticultural sites in the country. We certainly hope to have this on our schedule in the future. We are being very cautious at this time.
The June 2 tour to the US Bank Stadium has also been cancelled as they will not host tours until later this summer. We are not rescheduling this tour this year.
The Travel Center at the Mower County Senior Center remains closed until further notice, however you may call the travel number at 507-438-3946. We will keep you posted with our Senior News column, for changes or cancellations.
.Spring has arrived. Children can be seen riding bikes (also adults) and keeping a distant range.
The birds who show up each year under our awnings, are again busy nesting. The deck is real proof of that. The rhododendron bush near the front door is loaded with buds and saying, “HELLO, we are here too.”
The annual return of prickly pear cactus on the south side of our home is also waking up after looking like drowned foliage after the winter. They will all join us in the yard with its beautiful yellow color.
Photos of the cactus will be pictured in the Travel Office window when the Senior Center opens again.
I hope you have taken this time to do some of you spring and summer projects so you will be ready to be out and about.
We miss seeing all of you. Take the precautions and stay safe
