Shirley Foster, 89, formerly of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, died on Sunday, May 3, 2020, at The Cedars of Austin in Austin, Minnesota.
Shirley Leona Foster was born on Aug. 5, 1930, in LeRoy, Minnesota, to Harry and Alidia (Engerude) Rudlong. She married Louis Foster on June 3, 1951, at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow. Shirley was a housekeeper for St. Mary’s; she had also been employed by Arnold’s Supply cleaning at IBM and also cleaned in the Grand Meadow area. She loved to dance, especially the Waltz and Polka. Shirley enjoyed taking vacations and their trips to Norway, Germany, and Alaska. Shirley also cared for her sister, Myrtle, for many years.
Shirley is survived by her sisters, Belva (Doug) Heinie of The Cedars in Austin and Myrtle Rudlong of The Cedars in Austin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; brothers, Everett and Lester; and sister, Harriet.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020, with Pastor Megan Reedstrom officiating. Online condolences may be left at Hindtfuneralhomes.com.
