Kristin S. Johnson was appointed to the Austin Utilities Board of Commissioners.
Johnson was sworn in at the May board meeting in the first Zoom administered ceremony.
“We are excited to have Kristin, and the experience she brings in finance and planning, as part of our board,” said General Manager Mark Nibaur.
Johnson, a 28-year veteran at Mayo Clinic, is currently the vice chair of administration, southeast region of Mayo Clinic Health System. She holds an active CPA license and received her master of business administration degree from Augsburg College and her bachelors degree in accounting from the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University.
Her background includes experience in financial models, compensation plans, designing and implementing new practice models.
“I am hoping to apply some of the skills and knowledge I have developed to the position on the Austin Utilities board,” Johnson said “And in turn learn more about the many facets of the utilities industry. I am very appreciative of the opportunity and am excited about being part of this committed group of representatives.”
Johnson was appointed by Geoff Baker, who recently resigned after eight years of service.
“Geoff, through his leadership and focus on financial stability, made Austin Utilities a better company,” Nibaur said. “I truly appreciate his eight years of service to our community and company.”
