Mower COVID-19 cases stands at 537 since March

The Minnesota Department of Health on Tuesday reported 13 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mower County, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 537 since March 19.
Neighboring counties of Olmsted and Freeborn saw smaller increases of five (to 727) and three (to 188), respectively.
The MDH reported Tuesday that 307 new cases were confirmed statewide, bringing Minnesota’s total to 28,523 since March 6. Of those, 3,006 were health care employees and an estimated 24,221 no longer need isolation.
As of Tuesday, 455 Minnesotans were hospitalized with COVID-19, including 199 in intensive care.
The MDH also reported that Minnesota has had 1,217 COVID-19-related deaths since March 21. Of those, 968 have been residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
