As of Tuesday, 267 patients were hospitalized in Minnesota with COVID-19, including 121 in intensive care.
The MDH reported three more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,477. Of those, 1,157 were residents of long-term care of assisted living facilities.
During Monday evening’s council meeting, Austin Mayor Tom Stiehm urged residents to wear masks in public.
“When I go out in stores, I’m not seeing people wearing masks like I’d like to see,” he said. “Even in some of your highest concentration areas, like your grocery stores, there aren’t half wearing masks. I would really tell people we’re seeing this virus rebound and if you do nothing, you’re going to pay for it. We have enough data now where we know that wearing a mask really cuts down on (the spread of coronavirus).”
