Mower County’s cumulative COVID-19 total reaches 932

The Minnesota Department of Health on Thursday reported four new cases of COVID-19 in Mower County, bringing cumulative county totals to 932.

Mower County continues to rank ninth in most confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Minnesota counties.

Neighboring counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Olmsted and Steele reported 83, 27, 289, 1,076 and 223 cumulative cases respectively.

Statewide, the MDH reported 500 new cases, bringing the state’s total to 37,210 since March 6. Of those, an estimated 32,163 no longer need isolation.

The state saw an increase in hospitalizations with 274 patients reported hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Thursday. The number in intensive care slightly decreased to 123.

The MDH also reported 13 more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,458. Of those, 1,143 were individuals living in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
