I find it extremely interesting that after World War II the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals Against Fascism and Communism was formed by prominent Republicans. This alliance vowed it would refuse to permit the effort of communism, fascist and other totalitarian-minded groups to pervert this powerful medium (the Motion Picture Industry) into an instrument for the dissemination of un-American ideas and beliefs.
Again, this was all developed by conservatives with names like John Wayne, Walt Disney, Robert Taylor, Ward Bond, Victor Fleming to name a few of the heavy hitters in the field of acting and directing.
So, here we are in 2023 with a very important 2024 election at our heels, but it’s not the political conservatives who are sounding the alarm of our impending potential loss of our very fragile republican form of government. Those who refuse to remember are pushing us over the political cliff into a totalitarian government where just 70 or so years ago, it was they who were fighting to preserve our Constitutional Democracy or Republic, if you will.
Those in Congress who are failing to put governance first, who are perhaps young and lacking in Wisdom and Experience. They seem to not defend and uphold the Constitution, if, in fact, they have even realized it. Or resort to petty, mindless attempts to appear relevant to nick-pick with shallow assumptions. This eventually develops into a mob mentality (which is defined as a “place people go to get away from their conscious”).
If we don’t get smart at our next election we too could become an oligarchy or dictatorship. Stop and imagine how that will look. Freedoms can be lost, and Liberties can be oppressed. We could become a county much more politically like Russia or China. Is this what you are wanting for the next generation?
Recall the Land of Oz. All the answers were supposed to be there, but instead, the man behind the curtain” was a sniveling, manipulative, narcissistic sociopath who wanted nothing for anyone but himself. Wanting just power — who is this akin to these days? You know the answer. Keep in mind the morality of Jesus who was for everyone and not just the rich. Try to see through the politically manufactured, divisive issues of today and embrace your love for humanity!
