Roger Alan Hoffman, 75, passed away on November 3, 2023, in Surprise, AZ. He was born on March 19, 1948, in Austin, MN. Roger, a very loving and giving man with a big heart and a huge smile, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Roger is survived by his wife, DeeAnn; daughter, Kim (Scott) Holst; sisters, Janet (Tom) Lenoch and Lori (Mike) Golly; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and many very special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ruth Hoffman; his sister, Carol Scott and previous companion, Sue Caugh.
Roger graduated from Austin High School in 1966. He proudly served in the Air Force for four years, including his service in the Vietnam War.
Throughout his career, Roger excelled as a bar/restaurant manager and as a chef at a Juvenile Detention Center in Phoenix, AZ. He also co-authored a published cookbook.
Roger was of Lutheran faith and found Tres Dias of Montana to be life-changing. Roger enjoyed painting landscapes, showcasing his artistic talents and his appreciation for the beauty of nature.
Roger will have a military service and be laid to rest in the Flathead Valley of Montana. The date for the service is pending.
The National Cremation Society and the VA are assisting the family with the arrangements.
Roger’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He will be remembered for his loving nature, culinary skills, and devotion to his country. May he rest in peace.
