Austin junior Sam Winkels took first place at the Holiday Matness Tournament in Rogers recently.

Winkels beat Carson Schoenbauer of Scott West, who is ranked No. 8 at 285-pounds, 5-1 in the finals he collected five wins in the tournament.

Winkels is now 13-1 overall and ranked No. 5 at 215-pounds for Class AA. He has 62 career varsity wins.
