Thrawl joined the Bruins staff this summer with the departure of former assistant coaches Justin Fisher and Hampus Sjödahl, coming over from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was serving as a Volunteer Coach during the 2022-23 Season. Before coaching, Thrawl played Junior Hockey in the NAHL as a member of the Janesville Jets during the 2015-16 season, and then as a member of the Bruins for the 2016-17 season.
“I am extremely thankful for my time in Austin,” said Thrawl. “Although short, under Steve Howard’s leadership, along with the players and Bruins staff, I gained valuable experience that was incredibly helpful in allowing me this opportunity to move to the Division I level. The community of Austin will always hold a special place in my heart as a former player and coach.”
The Bruins return to action on Dec. 29 as they host the North Iowa Bulls.
