Diane Fossey, 72

Diane Marie Fossey, 72, of Lyle, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Austin.

Diane was a twin with her brother, Duane, and they were born October 8, 1951 in Austin, Minnesota to Kenneth and Stella (Bugge) Corson. She graduated from Lyle High School with the Class of 1969. Diane married John Fossey on August 22, 1970 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle.

Diane was a dedicated farmer’s wife. She loved to help John on the farm working various jobs, but her biggest job was taking care of John. Family was important to Diane and she adored her granddaughter, Lillian and loved spending time with her.

Diane liked to cook and she enjoyed going out for breakfast with friends. She was the person everyone loved to be around. She was thoughtful and supportive to all her friends and family. She was always optimistic in any situation and willing to listen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Stella Corson; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Allie Lou Fossey; and nephew, Dwight Corson.

Diane is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Fossey of Lyle; sons, Chad (Tara) Fossey and their daughter, Lillian of Boise, Idaho, Michael (Amy) Fossey of Austin; sister, Barbara (Brad) Westra of Preston, MN; twin brother, Duane (Eva) Corson of St. Ansgar, IA; sister-in-law, Susan (Richard) Johnson of St. Ansgar, IA, brother-in-law, Steven (Anne) Fossey of Rochester, MN; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Steven) Losinski of Arcadia, WI; nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Adam, Tara and family and Barb Franzen.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, December 8th at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Reverend Scott Meyer officiating. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and at the church on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
