As we begin making travel plans for 2024, we would like to say thank you and that we are looking forward to another fun-filled schedule for the new year.
We will continue to offer travel options with you all in mind as we plan our schedule. The Travel Office at the Mower County Senior Center is currently closed as we are busy with ideas, scheduling and upcoming travel plans.
Feb. 29: Yes, it is a Leap Year day and we will host an open house from 2-4 p.m., with sign-ups for trips we have made to date. All are welcome to come. The address is 400 Third Avenue NE in Austin. The travel calendar will be available at that time plus for members of the Senior Center will receive information in their monthly newsletter.
This year’s schedule will include some one or two day trips we have already booked.
This is just a sneak preview of some of the motorcoach trips already set:
• Fireside Dinner Theatre in Wisconsin, for a “Nunsense” dinner show. This is a two-day trip.
• Two Minnesota Twins day games on June 12 and Aug. 14.
• “Beautiful, the Carole King Musical,” at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre on July 17.
We have two extended trips including Colorado historic trains and national parks, which will include six scenic rail escorted excursions on Aug. 16-24.
On Oct. 16 we will depart for Greece. We still have two spaces remaining. Call the Travel office if you have questions.
This past summer many of you enjoyed our trips to “Jersey Boys” at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, in Chanhassen.
We have gotten word that their long stay with this show at the theater will close in February. I was fortunate to obtain seats for one last time at this fantastic show. I am holding seats for a motorcoach trip for Jan. 31. A quick response and interest is needed soon. Please call the travel number at 507-438-3946. The office will also be open for a short time on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays.
