We are so pleased to welcome some new players. Duplicate bridge is a competitive card game yet most of us are senior plus and tickled to death to be able to concentrate, analyze, make decisions, and come back each week to play again.
We welcome and encourage any or all bridge players to come play with us either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. Players come from Rose Creek, Albert Lea, Northwood and Mason City, Iowa, and of course, Austin. Games start at 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday winners, with nine teams playing, were:
First place, John Leisen and Rick Stroup
Second place, Edna Knobbe and Gail Schmidt
Third place, Lorraine Quinlivan and Barb Rofshus
Fourth place, Norm Blaser and Mike Leidall
Fifth place, Barb and Orrin Roisen
Wednesdays winner, also playing nine teams, were:
First place, Dave Ring and Gail Schmidt
Second place, Barb Rofshus and Paul Hanson
Third place, Barb and Orrin Roisen
Fourth place, Romelle Enderson and Vandy Newman
Plans are being made for the group to welcome the Christmas season by dining together at the Senior Center on Dec. 20. Talk to any bridge player for time and cost before that date.
