Lola Denisen, 92

Lola Von Denisen, 92 previously of Lyle, Minnesota, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 in Rochester, Minnesota.

Lola Von Lau was born on May 9, 1931 to Elmer and Lulu Lau at home near Gordonsville, Minnesota. Lola graduated from Lyle High School in 1949. Lola married Loren Denisen, the love of her life, on October 6, 1951 at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville Minnesota. Lola and Loren were blessed with three children, Paul, Dwight and Lorna.

Lola worked at Burgard Produce as a bookkeeper and then was a cook at Lyle Public School until her retirement.

Lola enjoyed her children, grandsons and great grandsons. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, movies, playing cards, especially kings in the corner with her grandsons. Even though she was not able to attend her grandson’s sporting events and other activities, she was always proud of their accomplishments.

She thoroughly enjoyed family fishing trips and was an avid Twins fan. She was a life time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was an active member of the church circle. She was a member of the Lyle Legion auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; her parents, Elmer and Lulu Lau; brothers, Durnard, and Len and his wife Eileen Lau; mother and father-in-law, Walter and Guida Denisen; and brother-in-law, Harold Denisen.

Lola is survived by her children: Paul Denisen, Albert Lea, MN, Dwight (Meridee) Denisen, Rochester, MN and Lorna Denisen, Rochester, MN; grandsons: Bryan (Brittany) Denisen and son Beau; Josh (Liz) Denisen and son Drake; sister-in-law: Doris Denisen, Austin, MN; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 7th at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Reverend Scott Meyer officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Lunch will follow the service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville, Minnesota.
