Darlene E. Trimble, age 93, of Austin, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Sacred Heart Care Center.
Darlene was born on April 8, 1930 to Roy and Clara (King) Baldner in Austin, Minnesota. Her mother passed away when Darlene was three years old. Her father then married Helen Uglum who became mother to Clara’s six children, also bringing with her one daughter, then adding two more daughters and one son, making Darlene one of ten children.
In high school at Austin High, Darlene became a cheerleader and met the love of her life, Harold Trimble who was a star athlete. Darlene and Harold were married on July 9, 1948. The two were blessed with five children.
Darlene was “mom” to all who came into her home. Her cookie jar was always full of her famous chocolate chip cookies. You couldn’t walk in the back door without passing the cookie jar and helping yourself. She was an avid Minnesota Sports fan, cheering for the Vikings, Twins, and Wild any time they played. She also enjoyed driving their 1930 Model A as well as taking trips to the casino. Her favorite times were spent with family.
Survivors include her children, Thom and Corrie Trimble, Northfield, Minnesota, Terry and Kathy Trimble, Walker, Minnesota, Vicki Trimble (Curt Hanna), Austin, Minnesota, Wendy and Darrell Hightshoe, Backus, Minnesota, Tim and Barb Trimble, Austin, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jaime Trimble, Mandy Leonard, Josh Godfredson, Rosina Velasco, Jennifer Cushing, Nate Trimble, MacKenzie Trimble, Jeremiah Trimble; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Janny Christiansen and Diane Haseth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; seven siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with Lynn Spainhower officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service at Clasen-Jordan on Thursday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice. Arrangements by Clasen-Jordan Mortuary
