Maynard Anthony Wolfe, 87, of Austin, MN went home to our Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Maynard was born March 2, 1936, to Ernest and Margaret (Huinker) Wolfe in Austin, MN. He attended Queen of Angels School, Columbus Catholic School and graduated from St. Augustine High School (Pacelli) in 1954. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army in 1954, with service in the United States, Korea, Greenland, and Germany. He was honorably discharged in May of 1964.
Maynard married Gail A. Dunn in July of 1959 in Bellevue Washington. To this union were born five children, Teresa, Jean, Michael, Toni, and Martin. Maynard and Gail later divorced.
Maynard married Diane M. Post in July of 1979. To this union was blessed with two children, Jason and Maren.
Maynard had a fierce love for our Lord and his family. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He also enjoyed his years of coaching hockey and working hard as a business owner to provide for his family. He was blessed to be a laborer in the vineyard of our Lord, and proud of his service to our country.
Maynard is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diane; children, Teresa (Ed) Arnold, Michael (Michelle) Wolfe, Jason (Karen) Post, Toni (Brad) Lukes, Martin (Kelly) Wolfe and Maren Rutledge; siblings, Janith Espe, Sandra Heikes, and Michael (Judy) Wolfe; sisters-in-law, Lois Post, Sharon DeMoss, and Clare Post; brother-in-law, Roger (Kathy) Post; 14 grandchildren, Katy (Rob) Barrientos, Seth (Becky) Arnold, Aaron Roseboom, Evan Roseboom, Grace Wolfe, Ava Wolfe, Tana (Joey) Lukes Bowens, Kaycee Crowley, Bret (Mackenzie) Lukes, Simon (Abigail) Wolfe, Nigel Wolfe, Elizabeth Rutledge, Matthew Rutledge, Samantha Rutledge; and four great grandchildren, Jackson, Jameson, Adeline Barrientos, and Olivia Bowens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Margaret Wolfe; daughter, Jean Wolfe; grandson-in-law, Cody Crowley; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Karen Wolfe; brothers-in-law, George Heikes, Leonard Espe and Robert Post; mother-in-law, Hazel Post, father-in-law Clarence Post.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Raul Silva officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Military rites will be by the American Legion Post 91 and V.F.W. Post 1216. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin following the luncheon. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
