Robert J. Johnson, 62

Robert J. Johnson, age 62, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Robert James Johnson was born in Austin, Minnesota on March 28, 1961, to Dale and Karen (Olson) Johnson. He graduated with the class of 1979 from Blooming Prairie High School. Robert then went on to graduate with his bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College, he furthered his education at the University of Iowa graduating with his law degree. He worked for the Federal Government as a lawyer for 27 years before retiring in 2020. On May 28, 2005, he married the love of his life Katherine Donnelly in their backyard in Sioux City, Iowa. He loved motorcycles and collecting antique farm toys. He was a proud member of REV-TAC gun club where he would spend a lot of his free time, considering the other members his brothers in arms especially Tim Grover. In the past year, he had picked up a new hobby, playing guitar and the harmonica. Robert enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen music. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his devastated wife, Katherine Johnson, he was her whole world; sister-in-law, Brenda Johnson; aunt, Cathy Palmer; and cousins, Jim Palmer and Brian Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Karen Johnson; and brother, Joel Johnson.

A funeral service for Robert will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The interment will be held in Red Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Austin, Minnesota.
