Roger L. Bowers, 65

Roger Lewis Bowers, age 65, of Maplewood, Minnesota, and formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin. Roger was born on July 15, 1958, in Austin, Minnesota, to Lewis and Dolores (Peterson) Bowers. He attended Shaw Elementary School and graduated from Austin High School in 1976. Following high school, he attended Austin VoTech to study electronics and graduated with the class of 1978. Roger loved anything to do with electronics and was very skilled at repairing and selling them. He worked for various electronic repair companies in Minnesota and Washington and owned his own company, B & C Allsound Service in Rochester. Roger also worked as a recreation coordinator for ARC Mower County and served as a Special Olympics Coach. He was a former member of the Minnesota Jaycees. Roger loved attending concerts, collecting stamps and rocks, reading, working in his lab, and fishing. He also had a great talent for telling stories and jokes. His witty sense of humor would light up any room, and he took great joy in entertaining those around him.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Ariel (Adam) Markgraf of Hutchinson, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Liam and Madison Markgraf; siblings, Cheryl (Alan) Retterath of Lyle, Dawn (Dale) Helgeson of Rose Creek, and Larry Bowers of North Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dolores Bowers.
The memorial service for Roger will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
