Ru Van Le, age 88, passed away on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys campus, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 10th, 1936, in Nam Dinh, Vietnam, and later became a proud immigrant to the United States in June 1994.
Ru served with honor and dedication in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam for 20 years, beginning his service at the age of 18. Following his military career, he worked as a military supplier with the US Army until his well-deserved retirement. Ru Van Le displayed incredible strength and resilience, facing kidney failure for the last 16 years of his life. Despite the challenges, he remained steadfast and determined, cherishing every moment with his family. His enduring strength and love were a testament to his unwavering commitment to be with his loved ones for as long as possible.
A devoted husband to Mao Thi Vu, Ru was a pillar of strength for his eight children, 15 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom reside in Austin, MN. He led by example, instilling strong values and morals in his family, leaving a lasting legacy of love and unity.
In the community, Ru’s impact extended through the businesses established by his children in Austin, MN: Rose Le Nails, La Nails, Theresa’s Nail Salon, and Jenny Le Nails. His dedication to hard work and family values served as the foundation for their success.
Ru Van Le is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a younger brother in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one older and one younger, who sadly passed away in Vietnam.
A man of resilience, honor, and love, Ru Van Le will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. The visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, at Worlein Funeral Home. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
