Clifford “Zip” M. Blaser, 93

Clifford “Zip” Matthew Blaser, age 93, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. Clifford was born in Stacyville, Iowa, to Matt and Julia (Diedrich) Blaser on June 1, 1930. He proudly served his country from 1950 until 1954. Following his honorable discharge, Clifford dedicated 36 years, working for Floor Crafters, where he was a carpet layer. On May 29, 1957, he married Jerenne “Jerri” Erickson in Northwood, Iowa and together had four children. He and his family enjoyed fishing and camping. Some of his happiest years were spent in Branson, Missouri. Clifford will be remembered for his hard work, quick wit, and most importantly his faith.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jerenne Blaser of Austin, Minnesota; daughters, Pam (Larry) Kramer of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and Patsy Fontes of Austin, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Brenda Blaser of Austin, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Duren of Austin, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and Terry Blaser; three brothers; three sisters; and his faithful and constant canine companion, Muffin.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the First United Methodist Church in Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
