Daniel Ray Kubicek, 76, of Littleton CO, passed away February 12, 2024.
Dan was born July 26, 1947 in Austin, MN to Raymond A. and Lorrayn H. (Johnson) Kubicek. He attended 12 years of Catholic education in Austin, graduating from Pacelli High School in 1965. Dan went on to graduate with a degree in Pharmacy from North Dakota State University in Fargo. It was at NDSU where he met his wife of 54 years, Margaret (Margo) Allex of Minot ND.
Dan (in a full-leg cast from a skiing accident) and Margo married in 1969 and had one son, Aaron. Dan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was known for his kind spirit and keen wit. His pharmacy career took them to IL, IA, TX, NV, and ND working for retail and mail order pharmacies, including partnership in ESH Pharmacy in Barrington, IL with longtime friend, Michael J. Miller. After retirement, he and Margo moved to Littleton to be closer to Aaron and his family. Dan was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and an Elks club member. He was an avid golfer, skier, hunter, fisherman, diver, and discovered a knack for writing mystery novels in his retirement. Dan was fortunate enough to get a 170-yard hole-in-one with a 7-iron in 2021. He loved dogs, cooking and entertaining, and taking his grandkids skiing and hunting.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife Margo, son Aaron, daughter-in-law Jodie, and grandkids Taylor and Ryan Kubicek. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Brown of Waconia MN, and brother Paul (Lori) Kubicek of Cedarburg WI and their families.
Services for Dan will be held June 21, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 W. Chatfield Ave., Littleton, CO 80128. Memorials in Dan’s name can be sent to the church at the same address.
