Saturday afternoon crash injures one

An Iowa man was injured Saturday afternoon, the result of a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 90 in Austin.
Carl Gerhardt Tessmer, 68, of Earlham, Iowa, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin with non-life threatening injuries after the 1997 Ford F350 he was driving collided with a 2016 Dodge pick-up driven by Stephen Botka, 36 of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
Botka was uninjured.
The crash, which according to the Minnesota State Patrol happened at around 2:35 p.m. Friday, occurred when the two vehicles made contact while both traveling westbound on Interstate 90 near Fourth Street Northwest.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Police Department, Austin Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance response.
