Martha Ann Hagan, age 91, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, April 28th, 2024. Martha was born November 24th, 1932, in Rose Creek Minnesota, to Nick and Anna (Meinert) Fink. She attended St. Rest Grade School and graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1950. Martha worked as a bookkeeper at Golden Dairy for four years, where she met her late husband, Paul Hagan. The couple married on June 25th, 1953, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rose Creek. They were blessed with six children, Donald (Mary Bernardy), Mary Ann (Ann Simerson), Robert (Mary Ann Flynn), Darrell (Lori Delyser), Dennis (Liz), Brian (Deborah Cook). She was also blessed with one grandson, Sam Hagan.
Martha was known for her passion for playing cards and her love for travel, having explored numerous destinations across the globe including Germany, France, Italy, the Vatican, Egypt, the Holy Land, Niagara Falls Canada, Panama Canal, and various trips throughout the United States including Alaska. She was an active member of various clubs and organizations, including the American Legion Auxiliary Post 91, St. Augustine CCW, Sacred Heart Auxiliary, Mower County Senior Center, and Golden Age Club. Martha served as a Cub Scout leader for 12 years and was honored with the Silver Scout award. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8th. The visitation will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with a rosary service at 12:00 noon at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin, a luncheon will follow at St. Augustine’s Church basement. Mayer-Hoff Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
