Dean William Struthers, 73

Dean William Struthers, 73, of Adams, Minnesota, died at his home on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Dean was born on July 9, 1950 on the family farm outside West Bend, Iowa the son of Arnold and Lucile Struthers. He moved with his family to Adams in the late 1950s. Dean graduated from Adams High School and made Adams his lifetime home.

Dean was service oriented. He spent eight years in the Air Force with a tour in Thailand. He also spent twelve years in the National Guard. After his military service, Dean turned toward community service by driving friends and neighbors to doctor appointments in Austin and Rochester.

Dean is survived by siblings George (Linda Cooper) Struthers of Adams, Nancy Williams of Rochester, Joe (Rachel) Struthers of Golden Valley, Merlin Struthers of Albert Lea, Ivan (May) Struthers of Rochester and several nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lucile Struthers; siblings, Susan Struthers, Sue Struthers, Andy Struthers, DeWayne Struthers; brother-in-law, Lowell Williams; nephew, Todd Struthers; and great niece, Molly Fiejo.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at the Adams Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeremy Johnson officiating. The service will be followed by a reception in the Adams American Legion. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, May 6 and one hour before the service on Tuesday.

Interment will be in the columbarium at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota.
