Dellene Schwartz, 72

Dellene Marie Schwartz (Wambeam), age 72, of Cohasset MN, passed on May 21, 2024, at Essentia Medical Center, St Mary’s in Duluth, MN.

Dellene grew up on a small farm in Austin, MN and graduated from Austin High School in 1970. She married her high school sweetheart Steven in 1971 and they were married for 52 years. The couple was blessed with three boys Keith, Adam, and Derek. Her love of children brought her to work as a teaching aid at Head Start and ultimately retiring in 2013 from Hormel foods after 18 years.

After retiring, the couple moved to Cohasset, MN and found a beautiful location on the shores of the Mississippi River. Dellene’s love of flowers transformed their new house into a beautiful home, where guests were always welcomed with a warm smile, a tour of her many flower beds, and dessert. Dellene’s faith brought her to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served and worshipped. She loved and was loved by her family and friends. Dellene showed her love in many ways, one of her favorites was cooking and baking for others. Her many hobbies included being an active member in the gardening club, collecting snowmen, garage sale-ing, taking pontoon rides, and out fishing everyone.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Russell and Stella Wambeam; brothers, Russell and Rodger. Dellene is survived by husband, Steven; sons, Keith Ph.D. (Johanna Ph.D.), Adam (Melissa), Derek (Kelly); cherished grandson, Owen; sister, Alcienne; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, beginning at 12:00 pm at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cohasset, MN.
