Dianne Evelyn Yauger, age 79, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at her home, Pickett Place of Austin, Minnesota. Dianne was born on July 4, 1944, to parents, George and Evelyn (Decklever) Baum in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School in 1962. Dianne married Richard “Dick” Weis and to this union the couple was blessed with two sons, Michael, and Brandon. The couple later divorced. Dianne worked for many years at Shopko and as the food and beverage coordinator at the Knights of Columbus in Austin. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Austin and attended church at the Lighthouse of Hope Church in Austin. She loved playing BINGO and running errands with family and friends. Dianne always enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to the family trip with Melissa to Whitewater State Park. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dianne is survived by her two sons, Michael Weis of Rochester and Brandon Weis of Rochester; honorary daughter, Melissa (Gary Fisher) Sorensen of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren, Stephen and Jenna Mitchell; honorary grandchildren, Dawson Sorensen, Dustin Sorensen, and Madison Sorensen; brothers, Jerald (Cheryl) Baum of Wabasha and Neil (Nancy) Baum of Ponchatoula, LA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Baum; infant son, Stephen Weis; and granddaughter, Carissa Mitchell.
A graveside service for Dianne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Peter Cemetery in Toeterville, Iowa. A celebration of life will follow the graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Pickett Place Apartments, 808 1st Dr. NW., Austin, MN 55912.
