Jon Lynn Canterbury, age 74, passed away from Alzheimer’s on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Cedar Court in Adams, Minnesota. Jon was born on July 6, 1949, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Harold and Georgianna (Scharf) Canterbury. Growing up he helped his dad farm. Jon graduated from Bowling Green High School in Ohio in 1967. He graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel in 1968. In 1969 he was drafted into the United States Army and after his training he served in Göppingen, Germany as a mechanic. Jon married Beverly Hillard on March 20, 1969. Beverly joined him and their first son, Jason, was born in 1970 in Stuttgart, Germany. They returned to Ohio after Jon’s honorable discharge in 1971. There he began farming with his dad. Their second son, Joshua, was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, in 1974. Wanting to own their own farm, the couple moved to Adams, Minnesota, where they still reside. Their third son, Jeremy, was born in Osage, Iowa, in 1978. Jon’s priorities were first God, second family, and third farming. He made sure the family was in church every Sunday. Jon was so proud of his sons and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Jon is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Jason (Janice), Joshua (Jody), and Jeremy (Kristin); grandchildren, Zack, Kylie (Taylar) Schwartz, Brody, Ellie, Cassidy, Chloe, Colton, Case, Trent, Sara, Kenzie, and Ethan; and great-grandchildren, Ivy and Ila Schwartz, and a third little Schwartz on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Georgianna; and brother, Tim.
A private family service was held. Interment was in Little Cedar Cemetery, Adams. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
