At a variety of Memorial Day ceremonies Monday, people turned out under the threat of rain to pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
At the Veterans Memorial, Vietnam veteran Bill Fuller was the featured the speaker while at the Oakwood Cemetery ceremony Roxann Linthicum, the first woman to enlist in the Albert Lea National Guard, addressed those in attendance.
And then finally, before tributes were conducted at local cemeteries, a wreath was dedicated to the Cedar River in honor of those lost at sea.
