The Hayfield softball team beat Southland 1-0 in a Section 1A elimination game Thursday.
The Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the first when Kenna Selk tripled and scored on a bunt by Kenna Rutledge.
Southland (17-5 overall) began the day with a 6-3 win over Faribault Bethlehem Academy.
Hayfield (14-9 overall) will now play Kenyon-Wanamingo in an elimination game at 5 p.m. on May 28 in Todd Park. The Vikings beat KW 2-0 in a Section 1A opener.
