Earlier this week, the Herald ran a story about input sessions that Riverland Community College held as part of its work on a 2025-2030 strategic plan.
The reason for the sessions was to involve the public in a school that plays a vital role in Austin, Albert Lea and Owatonna. From within Riverland Community College will come the workers and leaders of tomorrow and they will have impacts right here in our own communities.
That’s why the input sessions were so important. Those outside of Riverland’s classrooms need to have a stake and voice in the school’s development for the future. This information gathered will guide officials in the direction the school needs to take in order to meet the needs of the workforce as well as potential students coming to Riverland.
That’s why we encourage everybody in Austin from all backgrounds, that if you haven’t already take part in Riverland’s community survey, still open through July 15.
You can go online at https://www.riverland.edu/about-riverland/community-input-sessions/ to take the survey and be a part of this important conversation.
Riverland has become a pillar in all three communities and if we want it to continue offering these same opportunities, people need to be a part of the conversation.
Taking part in this evolution of the school is an exciting step toward the future and highly worth it to continue making this quality education a part of who we are.
