Ron was born May 2nd, 1969, in Austin, MN and raised in Brownsdale, MN by his parents, Allan and Nancy Swenson. Ron graduated from Hayfield High School in 1987. He then attended St. Cloud State University. After St. Cloud State, Ron found his passion in high end men’s apparel. Working several years for businesses such as St. Paul Clothiers in Austin and Rochester, Hanney’s Menswear and lastly at Knights Chamber. Ron really found his first true home in Rochester, MN. He met many friends, as well as the love of his life & future wife, Angie, who was working at Applebee’s in the Rochester Mall.

After a few years in Rochester, the decision to move up to the metropolitan area was made together. Angie and Ron found their home together in White Bear Lake Township. Ron changed directions in his career where he began his venture in the Trucking Industry, and he found his skill in the logistics field. Ron worked for a few fantastic companies in Walbon Trucking, Bay & Bay Transportation, and finally joining Wayne Transports, where he found his final work family. Ron always spoke so fondly of so many of the drivers, his co-workers in the office and the management.

In his personal life Ron loved rock & roll, the Buffalo Bills, wearing shorts (year round), and dirt track racing!! While those were his first choices, he rarely passed up an opportunity to watch nearly any sporting event as long as he had an ice cold Budweiser in his hand… earning the nickname “Budman”. Watching a Wild hockey game – Budweiser, fishing on a lake – Budweiser, snowmobiling with buddies – Budweiser, eating ice cream – Budweiser!!

Ron is survived by his wife, Angie (Link) Swenson, mother, Nancy (Prouty) Swenson of Brownsdale, brother Rick (and Heidi) Swenson of Austin, Niece and Nephews, Jett, Ali, and Elliott and multiple relatives on his wife’s side.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Allan Swenson.

A celebration of life is scheduled to pay tribute to Ron at the Eagles in Rochester, MN on Sunday, July 14th from 1:00-4:00. Please dress casual and if possible wear anything racing, your favorite sports team, or Budweiser related. That’s how he’d like it. There will be a light lunch or snacks provided. The family would love for you to come have a Budweiser in Ron’s honor.
