Three people have suffered life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 early Thursday afternoon.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the two-vehicles — a Jayco MTRH RV and Chevrolet Silverado were traveling westbound on I-90 when the two-vehicles collided near mile marker 176 and Oakland Avenue West in Austin at around 1 p.m.
All three people in the RV, including 75-year-old William John Byassee, 67-year-old Kimberly Sue Byassee and 13-year-old Abigail Paige Byassee, all of Hamburg, Pennsylvania, were taken to Rochester hospitals with life threatening injuries.
The occupants of the Silverado — Logan Michael Murphy, 21, and Jon Ryder Bergstrom, 19, both of Austin — suffered non-life threatening injuries, but were not transported to a hospital.
The accident, which took place near the Oakland Avenue Bridge construction project, closed down the westbound lane of I-90 for most of the afternoon. It eventually reopened at just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Austin Fire Department and Police Department, along with Mayo Ambulance responded.
