Barbara E. Schultz, 64

Barbara Ellen Schultz, 64, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Barb was born March 8, 1960, in Austin, MN to Arlin and Marcine (Wollenberg) Schultz. She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1978. Barb attended Austin Community College and Mankato State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Barb was employed at Mayo Clinic for 38 years holding various positions during that time.

Barb enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, crafts, and being a doting aunt to her nephew and niece, Ben and Megan. Some of her favorite trips were to Australia, Italy, Hawaii, The Bahamas, Disney World (numerous times), and a bicycle trip touring the California Wine Country. Barb participated in the Festival of Trees event for many years where she and two friends decorated Christmas trees to raise money for Hiawatha Homes. Barb also volunteered and supported the Eagles Cancer Telethon and Special Olympics.

Barb is survived by her two sisters, Lori (Thomas) Hintz of Rochester and Karie Schultz (Mark Hanson) of Austin; one nephew, Ben Hintz (Codie Myers) of Dickinson, ND; one niece, Megan Hintz of Anchorage, AK; uncle Warren Wollenberg (Lynette Kopperud) of Edina; aunt Gloria Schultz of Watertown, SD; many wonderful cousins and great friends. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Verdell (Buck) Schultz.

There will be a private family burial at Grandview Cemetery, Austin, MN at a later date.

Thank you to Seasons Hospice for their kindness and wonderful care of Barb during her illness. Thank you also to Barb’s friends and coworkers who visited her and brightened her days. You are very special people, and Barb was blessed to call you friends. Barb did not die of cancer; she lived with cancer.
